Description

We really enjoyed installing this listed Georgian front entrance door.  The door was a little peculiar compared to a normal Georgian door as it has only four panels.   Typical Georgian front entrance doors had six panels.   This door was listed, so we had to take details measurements to ensure that the door looked just like the old one we were replacing.   The listed status meant that we had to make a Georgian fanlight with single glazed glass.  This is something we do not do very often- almost everything we install is double glazed.  Double glazing makes homes really rather warm.    The very classic Georgian fanlight is made with wooden divides.  The glass is then held in with putty.  The putty needs several weeks to harden before it can be over painted.    The door has simple raised panels- of which we were able to copy.
