Quality and craftsmanship for over 30 years

About Cotswood

Trading from our Southgate showrooms for over 30 years, Cotswood are recognised as London's leading suppliers and fitters of quality domestic doors and associated joinery at competitive prices. A variety of qualities are available to suit particular environmental conditions and, of course, depth of pockets. Our staff are trained to provide expert advice on all aspects of these various qualities together with the necessary locks and fittings to compliment your choice of door. This website will detail the range and scope of our services. We also manufacture to order special purpose joinery in any available and suitable timber. All hardwood products supplied and fitted by us carry a ten year guarantee against faulty products or workmanship.

Environmental Statement

At Cotswood, we are committed to helping the environment: To protect the environment it is important to use materials from sustainable sources. Put simply, some resources are not renewable. Plastic, for example is made from oil which is a finite resource, when it is gone it is gone. Timber, particularly from managed forests is a renewable resource. In well managed commercial forests the trees planted exceed the harvest. This builds a resource into the future which actually helps to reduce the "green house" effect. At Cotswood we try to ensure, wherever possible, timber is from well managed FSC accredited forests.
(Forest Stewardship Council).

What is Sustainable Timber?
  • Sustainable timber means that the tree harvested will be replaced by another tree, whether naturally grown or planted. Extraction is compensated for, unlike in the case of most other materials.
  • ‘Sustainability’ is not only about quantity, but also about the ecological quality of the resource base - the forest. ‘Sustainable timber’ means that regardless of the extraction of individual trees, the forest maintains its ecological function as for biodiversity, climate and water cycles.
  • ‘Sustainable’ is also about people. ‘Sustainable timber’ implies that local people are involved in the benefits from the forest. Thereby the forest means value and long-term income in particular to local people.
